Activity Description:

The Mammal Society’s Chief Executive, Marina Pacheco, will be our trainer and she will be distributing ready-made hedgehog tunnels on the day.   The aim of the afternoon is to learn about the planned Mammal Society’s 2011 hedgehog survey effort and to organise volunteers in the Kent Mammal Group into “teams” to carry out the surveys.   If you can start thinking of possible sites which have a known hedgehog presence, easy access and known landowners, this may give us a head start.

The location of the training is Wildwood Trust, near to Herne Common and Sturry, close to Canterbury.  Go to http://www.wildwoodtrust.org/ for further information and details of how to get there.

The event will take place in the education classroom, where tea and coffee will be provided before we start.

At the end of the training participants may visit the Wildwood Park at no charge.

There is no fee for the training session but any donations you may wish to make towards the survey costs would be welcome.   The venue has been provided for the Kent Mammal Group to use by the Wildwood Trust at no charge and we are very grateful to Peter Smith and Wildwood staff for their support of this project.
